Lincoln Hall

Lincoln Hall   - Chicago, Illinois

Located at 2424 N Lincoln Avenue, the building which houses Lincoln Hall first opened in 1912 as the Fullerton Theatre, a nickelodeon. Since then, the building has housed a garage and machine shop, the Crest Theatre and, most recently, the 3 Penny Cinema. In 1934, FBI sharpshooters were stationed atop what is now Lincoln Hall to prevent John Dillinger's escape from the Biograph Theatre across the street on the night he was killed. After 20 years as owner/operators of Schubas Tavern at 3159 N. Southport in Chicago, Mike and Chris Schuba opened Lincoln Hall in this historic building. "We've been looking three years for a building that would create a human-scale, intimate experience where we can put the music first," said Chris Schuba in 2009 as he walked the dust-covered mezzanine while construction workers welded, sawed and hammered around him.

Rob Arnold World

Rob Arnold World Recording Studio  - Cleveland, Ohio

Rob's recording plans were put on hold though, once he received a call asking if he would like to come and jam with a band that had just started out called, Chimaira. Obviously he accepted the invitation, and the rest is history. But the experience he received while recording over the years with Chimaira was invaluable. No school on earth could come close to offering him the knowledge he obtained from working along side world famous producers, in Class-A studios, in cities like New York, Los Angeles, and London.

Schubas

Schubas  - Chicago, Illinois

A diverse line-up of live music seven nights a week. Indie Rock, Folk, Country, Rap, Jazz-- it's all here. The building that houses SCHUBAS TAVERN is a brick and masonry neo-Gothic treasure that's been a Lake View neighborhood landmark for 100 years. Built in 1903 as part of a project undertaken by the SCHLITZ BREWERY, the building was one of hundreds erected at the turn of the century. SCHUBAS remains one of a handful of these elegant buildings still operating as a saloon. In 1988 Chris and Michael Schuba bought the building, and set upon refurbishing it to its original glory. This extensive renovation included restoring the 30' Brunswick mahogany bar, tin ceilings and walnut wainscotting in the bar room, and a full makeover of the back music hall.

Wire

Schubas  - Berwyn, Illinois

Wire is an idea that came about several years ago, an idea that will reclaim music's heritage as a method of communicating - not something done in isolation, but something shared with other musicians, the surrounding community, and ultimately the world. We will bring together under one roof a complete musical creation and incubation facility, and make it available to not only a vast network of top flight professionals, but also serious amateurs, and students. When you house all of these creative energies together in one place, great things happen - but in order to harness those energies and use them to form lasting content, you need the technologies, areas, and expertise to take things to the next level. Wire is more than an idea - it is a physical space.
